Every year, QFES relies on approximately 34,000 volunteers to deliver frontline operations and support before, during and after an emergency. Such demand means we're always on the lookout for Queenslanders willing and able to help protect Queensland's people, property and environment.

What it takes

  1. A commitment to serve and help others.
  2. Quick thinking and working as part of a team.
  3. Possibility of working extended and irregular hours.
  4. Personal resilience and the ability to operate in stressful situations.

Roles

It's a big job carrying the weight of your community. It takes a diverse team who bring a range of skills from a range of backgrounds. As a volunteer, you must be proactive in times of calm and prepared in the event of an emergency.
