Our Strategy

Our Strategy

QFES is undergoing change to ensure it is well positioned and well prepared for the future and to meet the challenges it poses in relation to the needs and expectations of Queenslanders. Our Strategy articulates what the department is delivering to improve our ability to plan for, prevent and mitigate, and respond to the unexpected.

Our Direction

This document lists the capabilities QFES needs to meet legislative responsibilities, government priorities and community expectations, and explains how the QFES structure, governance framework, policies and workforce performance operate together to ensure these capabilities are delivered.

Our Future Direction

The world is evolving. We cannot predict what is coming, we cannot anticipate the impact, we cannot count the cost — and what will challenge us the most is that which we least expect.

Our Future Direction is about expecting the unexpected and preparing for the unimaginable. QFES must listen to changing needs of the community and work across all services, all partners and all barriers to prevent disaster where possible, prepare whenever we are able and provide world-leading response when it is vital.
