La France Medium Pumper
The La France was imported from America and there are only six of them in Australia at present - all with the QFES. The La France carries an on-board water supply, has two foam tanks, and carries road accident rescue equipment and breathing apparatus.

Scania Heavy Pumper
The Scania Heavy Pumper is designed to provide the full range of QFES services, with the additional features of an increased on-board water supply and heavy duty road accident rescue equipment.
Fire Control Unit (Car 99)
The Fire Control Unit is a high-tech incident command vehicle boasting lap top computer systems, the latest in radio communications and data logging, an advanced navigation system and weather station, satellite phones and audio visual equipment.
It is used throughout south-east Queensland to provide a command point at major incidents, and can also be used as an on-site communications base, taking pressure off fire communications centres during major emergencies.
Scania/Simon ST400 Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP)
This unit was based on a 8x4 Scania chassis fitted with Allison World Series automatic transmission. The maximum reach of this unit is 40 metres from ground to floor of cage. The body was built by Austral Specialised Vehicles and was handed over to the QFRA in 1998.
Firepac 3000 Mk 3
Used throughout CBD areas, these appliances were built by Austral Specialised Vehicles and were specifically designed from the ground up as fire vehicles. They have been designed around a specially built chassis fitted with a Caterpillar 3116 diesel engine, Rockwell axles/running gear and 2F automatic transmissions. This appliance comes in two pump configurations: midship and rear mounted pump position. Other features include a 1000 litre water tank, Rosenbauer NH30 multi stage multi pressure pumps with a capacity of 2250 litres per minute normal pressure and 400 litres per minute high pressure. A foam proportioning system is also fitted and is plumbed for remote foam pick up only.
Telescopic Aerial Platform (TAP)
The chassis is a Freightliner FL80 crew cabin chassis business class. The aerial unit was manufactured in Canada by Nova Quintech and has an outreach of 17 metres. The fitted fire pump is a Darley 1250 midships mounted pump manufactured in the United States. This pump has a capacity of 5000 litres per minute at 1000 hpa and 400 litre per minute at 4000 kpa. This unit also carries a 1000 litre water tank,100 litre foam concentrate tank and round the pump foam proportioner.
4x2 Medium Pumper Tanker
Used widely in regional centres these appliances are based on a Mitsubishi FM618 or Isuzu chassis. They are fitted with a water tank of 2000 litres useable capacity and a 100 litre foam concentrate tank. These units are fitted with a Rosenbauer 240 pump coupled to a Hatz CL41 4 cylinder diesel engine. This engine draws its fuel from the vehicle fuel tank and a fuel low level alarm is fitted to the pump panel. The fitted foam system is a 650 Quenchmaster and is plumbed to draw foam from either the on board foam tank or a remote supply. The body of this appliance has been supplied by Austral Specialised Vehicles, Varley Specialised Vehicles, Liquip and Mills Tui Australia.
4x4 Pumper Tanker Light
These appliances were built by Liquip based on either an Isuzu NP300 4x4 or a Mitsubishi Canter 4x4. They are all of aluminium construction with a 1000 litre water tank. The fire pump is a GAAM 250 coupled to a 2 cylinder Hatz diesel engine. The pump capacity is 600 litre per minute at 700 kpa.
