UPDATE: Bracewell (near Mount Larcom) – grass fire as at 5.30pm

Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) crews remain at the scene of a large grass fire burning in the vicinity of Dunnetts Road and Sanders Road, Bracewell (near Mount Larcom). The fire started around 11:50am. Fire crews are backburning and will continue to strengthen containment lines into the night. There is a large smoke haze and motorists are advised to drive to conditions and also to be aware that fire crews are working close to the roads. Residents are advised to keep their doors and windows closed and if they suffer from respiratory illnesses, keep medication close by. There is no immediate threat to property, however, if you feel your home is under threat, dial Triple Zero (000). If residents in the area witness any suspicious behaviour, they are asked to call Police on Triple Zero (000) immediately.
