Smoke haze - Brisbane and surrounds

1/9/2013 5:04:36 PM

The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) advises that a large smoke haze is currently impacting the greater Brisbane region, particularly on the north side. The smoke is a result of several bushfires burning at Bribie Island, Cootharaba and Tin Can Bay. People with respiratory conditions are advised to stay indoors, keep windows closed and also keep their medication close by. Motorists are urged to exercise caution, drive to conditions and be aware of firefighters working in the area. These conditions are likely to last for the next several days.
