An Emergency Alert (Advice) has been issued for Surat from Maranoa Regional Council.

Council advises that due to cloudiness of the town water supply, Surat residents should boil water before drinking. Residents should boil water for drinking, food preparation, brushing teeth, and baby formula. Use bottled or cooled boiled water. Tap water is ok for non-drinking purposes. Free bottled water is available at Surat library. Council is working with Qld Health to address the issue. If you have health concerns call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84).
