The information in this list will be expanded over time. Access to the information within the listed Information Assets is aligned with Queensland legislative requirements. The Right to Information Act 2009 commenced on 1 July 2009. Our disclosure log provides details of information released in response to non-personal Right to Information requests made to the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services. It contains a description of the information released and, where possible, a link to that information. Commercial training courses

QFES provides commercial training courses for business and industry through its workplace training unit – Training and Emergency Management (TEM).  A list of available courses is found at

Emergency Management Levy

The Emergency Management Levy (EML) applies to all properties within Queensland to ensure a more sustainable funding base for emergency services.  It is collected via the council rates notice.

Levy classifications for properties can be viewed at the QFES website.

Fire Bans

QFES maintains a list of current fire bans and restrictions.

Fire Station Locations

QFES maintains a record of fire station locations.  Access to these locations is available on the QFES website at

Fire Wardens

In rural Queensland the use of fire is controlled through the volunteer Fire Warden network. However if you live in an urban or rural fringe community the Fire Warden could be your local fire station.
QFES maintains a list of fire wardens on the Rural Fire Service Queensland website.

Incident reports

The Administrative Access Scheme allows our clients and members of the public to access certain information held by QFES without having to apply through a formal Information Privacy or Right to Information application process.
Fees and charges apply depending on the type of application, the number of documents and the amount of work involved in accessing the information. For further details see the QFES Administrative Access Scheme Information Sheet.
Examples of the types of information collected and held by QFES that may be released:

  • Operational reports relating to fire incidents
  • Operational reports relating to motor vehicle incidents
  • Fire investigation reports
  • Photographs (if available)
  • Scientific Reports
  • Statistics regarding QFES service delivery.

Neighbourhood Safer Places

A Neighbourhood Safer Place (NSP) is a local open space or building where people may gather, as a last resort, to seek shelter from a bushfire.  NSPs do not guarantee safety in all circumstances.   

This site contains a list of local government areas where designated NSP locations can be viewed. Not all local governments have NSPs. If there is not an NSP currently identified for an area, continue to monitor this site for updates.
