(3 Day Course)

Overview

This course is for people who have been appointed as or wish to work as a Fire Safety Adviser (FSA). It teaches participants the skills and knowledge needed to assume the role and responsibilities of a Fire Safety Adviser in accordance with the Queensland Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008. The course also equips participants with the skills and knowledge needed to advise on appropriate emergency planning, making them familiar with all aspects of building fire safety.

Certification

This is an accredited training course. Upon successful completion of the course participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment in the following competencies:

PUAWER001BIdentify, prevent and report workplace emergencies
PUAWER002BEnsure workplace emergency prevention procedures, systems and processes are implemented
PUAWER003BManage and monitor workplace emergency, procedures, equipment and other resources
PUAWER004BRespond to workplace emergencies
PUAWER005BOperate as part of an emergency control organisation
PUAWER006B Lead an emergency control organisation
PUAWER007B Manage an emergency control organisation
PUAWER008BConfine small workplace emergencies

Fire Safety Adviser Re-Certification
(1 Day Course)

Overview

This course is for current Fire Safety Advisers (FSA) who wish to become re-certified and continue their FSA role.  Teaches participants the skills and knowledge needed to assume the role and responsibilities of a Fire Safety Adviser in accordance with the Queensland Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 and addresses recent changes in legislation.  Equips participants with the skills and knowledge needed to advise on appropriate emergency planning and be familiar with all aspects of building fire safety.

Certification

This is a re-certification of the Fire Safety Adviser qualification which includes revisiting the following competencies:

PUAWER002B Ensure workplace emergency prevention procedures, systems and processes are implemented
PUAWER003B Manage and monitor workplace emergency, procedures, equipment and other resources
PUAWER004BRespond to workplace emergencies

PUAWER006BLead an emergency control organisation
PUAWER007B Manage an emergency control organisation
PUAWER008BConfine small workplace emergencies

The prerequisites for this re-certification course are the above competencies.  If you completed your FSA qualification with another Registered Training Organisation, you will need to provide an original certified copy of your Statement of Attainment.  You will also need certain literacy skills – Please read the Fire Safety Adviser Re-Certification course information sheet by clicking below for more information.
